A precious gift for Mother's Day

Ria Seenath received a most precious gift for Mother's Day yesterday-a healthy bouncing baby girl.

Seenath, 28, was the first to give birth yesterday at the Mt Hope Maternity Hospital.

The infant, who brought tears of joy to her mother, was born at 12.47 a.m. and weighed seven pounds four ounces.

Seenath, who lives in Cunupia, was expecting to get her baby on May 7, but when she did not go into labour that day she was left wondering just when her baby will come along -she got the answer yesterday.

"I really, really was not expecting to get her (on Mother's Day), it came as a surprise," Seenath said. She said she was yet to name her baby.

The mother of three said she was impressed with the care she received from midwives Yvonne Hubert and Merle Nicholas, who took her through the smooth delivery.

"They did a terrific job and I wish to thank them."

Seenath also yesterday received two months supply of Cheekies disposable diapers from Agostini Limited Distributors.
