LOCAL football fans will see the might of England in action against the “Soca Warriors” at the Hasely Crawford Stadium on June 1.

England coach Fabio Capello announced a 31-man squad for England’s friendly internationals against USA at Wembley on May 28 and June 1 against the Warriors.

And included in the squad are household names like Rio Ferdinand who is likely to be the captain, Wes Brown, David Beckham, Wayne Rooney, ace gal-poacher Michael Owen, Peter Crouch, the man who pulled the dreadlocks of Brent Sancho to score England’s opening goal against the “Soca Warriors” in the 2006 World Cup Germany, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerard who got the second for England in that match. Also included are newcomers Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart and Everton defender Phil Jagielka. All tickets for the match against the “Soca Warriors” have been sold out 24 hours after going on sale.

Hart, 21, was on the bench as City lost 8-1 away to Middlesbrough yesterday.

And his call-up completes a remarkable elevation after only spending one season as a first-team regular following his move to Eastlands from Shrewsbury in 2006. Jagielka has had an outstanding first season at Everton following a £4million move from Sheffield United last summer.

The full 31-man England squad: David James (Portsmouth), Joe Hart (Man City), Chris Kirkland (Wigan), Wayne Bridge (Chelsea), Wes Brown (Man Utd), Ashley Cole (Chelsea), Rio Ferdinand (Man Utd), Phil Jagielka (Everton), Glen Johnson (Chelsea), John Terry (Chelsea), Stephen Warnock (Blackburn), David Wheater (Middlesbrough), Jonathan Woodgate (Middlesbrough), Gareth Barry (Aston Villa), David Beckham (LA Galaxy), David Bentley (Blackburn), Joe Cole (Chelsea), Stewart Downing (Middlesbrough), Owen Hargreaves (Man Utd), Tom Huddlestone (Tottenham), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Jermaine Jenas (Tottenham), Frank Lampard (Chelsea), Theo Walcott (Arsenal), Ashley Young (Aston Villa), Gabriel Agbonlahor (Aston Villa), Dean Ashton (West Ham), Peter Crouch (Liverpool), Jermain Defoe (Portsmouth), Michael Owen (Newcastle), Wayne Rooney (Man Utd).
